Equipment is not a strategy. Teaching people to use it — and designing software they can live with — is.
As an IT trainer in secondary education I learned a lesson that still governs my engineering: technology that is not taught is technology that is not used. Laboratories filled with machines and empty of practice are a familiar tragedy. The same pattern appears in companies that buy software and skip the handover.
Connecting education and technology is therefore a product problem. Interfaces should be legible to the person who will open them on a Monday morning. Documentation should be short. Training should be part of the scope, not a favour after launch. When I ship a civic portal or a clinic directory, I write for the clerk and the parent, not for the demo reel.
I still teach. Every project is also a transfer of capability. That is how software survives the consultant.
